The Many Ways To Use Your Audio Ape Pro

Windows, Linux or Mac

Connect- Just plug Audio Ape Pro receiver into any USB or USB C port of any laptop or desktop or connected USB hub. Audio Ape Pro draws very little power, so you can run with or without wall power to your computer.

Control- Once Audio Ape Pro is connected we are detected by your laptop as a USB Keyboard and we can send keystrokes triggered by our long range handheld remote. These keystrokes can be used to interact with many different apps like Zoom, Keynote and Prezi. We simultaneously show up as a MIDI device. MIDI commands are similar, but superior to using Keyboard commands. MIDI is the recommended control method for pro apps like QLab and SCS.

Audio- Lastly, we show up as a sound output device which allows you the option to route your laptop's audio to the HD built-in headphone jack on Audio Ape Pro. We recommend this as the quality of the Audio Ape Pro's headphone output is superior to any laptop headphone jack we've tested.

Standalone Music Player

If you want to run just your show music without the need for a laptop, Android or iPad? Then use Audio Ape Pro's built-in show music playback system.

Plug the Audio Ape Pro to any USB power plug or battery bank and we jump right into the stand-alone music player. Your music comes out of the headphone jack onboard the Audio Ape Pro receiver. We can Play, Pause, FF, RW and fade and stop your music as well as control volume. All using the high powered handheld remote.

You can use any Micro SD memory card and load as many playlists and tracks as its storage allows. The included 8GB Micro SD card can store an average of over 250 music tracks in high quality WAV format.

iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch

Connect- In order to connect to a lightning iOS device you will need an iOS to USB adapter. This adapter converts the lighting port into a standard USB port, which enables you to connect the Audio Ape Pro receiver. If you have a iPad or iPhone with a USB C port instead of a lighting port you will not need this adapter.

Control- Once Audio Ape Pro is connected  to the Apple adapter we are detected by your Apple device as a USB Keyboard and we can send keystrokes triggered by the long range handheld remote. We simultaneously show up as a MIDI device and can send MIDI commands to pro apps like Go Button and Audio Ape Pro app using the handheld remote controller.

Audio- We also show up as a sound output device which allows you the option to route audio from your Apple device to the HD built-in headphone jack on Audio Ape Pro. Very handy if your device doesn't have an headphone port onboard.

Note- This picture shows the Apple device connected to wall power using a USB Lighting cable and charger. However you can run Audio Ape Pro strictly powered by your Apple iOS device.

Android Set-Up

Connect- In order to connect to an Android device you will need an OTG adapter. OTG stands for On The Go. This OTG adapter creates a USB port so you can connect to your Android.

Control- Once Audio Ape Pro is connected to the Android device using the OTG adapter we are detected as a USB Keyboard and we can send keystrokes triggered by the long range handheld remote. We simultaneously show up as a MIDI device and can send MIDI commands.

Audio- We also show up as a sound output device which allows you the option to route audio from your Android device to the HD built-in headphone jack on Audio Ape Pro. Very handy if your device doesn't have an headphone port onboard.

Note- Right now show music app selection is limited for Android. Best Boy app is the only dedicated show music app that has features like fade and stop and track display. You can use just about any music player and we can control it, it will just lack the full features of a show music app like Best Boy.
